Why Going to Church is Important

During Sundays, many churches hold worship services. if you go to church on Sunday, then you are doing something good. It is a way of commemorating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, which happened on the first day of the week which is Sunday. Many people don’t go to church on Sunday but it is actually one of the ten commandments to keep one day out of sever holy unto Him. Going to church should be for the following reasons.

Worshipping God is one reason we go to church. Worship shows that you love God. And In His commandments, God has told us to love God above all things. It is important that we sing praises to God and listen to His Word because it is only through these that we can worship God aright. It is a duty of Christians to worship God on His holy day. We go to church for this very reason.

Leaning the Word of God is another reason that we go to church. During worship day, the preacher teaches us the Word of God. In the preaching of God’s Word, we get to know God’s attributes, what He did for out sins, how we should properly worship God, how we should properly live our lives. It is in the Bible where the great truths about God and man are taught. And if you diligently listen to the Word of God being preached on Sunday, then you will learn a lot about God’s word and how to apply it in all aspects of your life.

Another reason why we go to church is to meet up with the fellow believers. The Sunday worship is a gathering of the one body of Christ. We congregate with people with the same faith as we have. Here we get to share our joys and our burdens to fellow believers. It is a time of sharing blessing with fellow believers. It is also a time for confessing sins to one another. Since God has commanded us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, so we gather together on a Sunday to worship God and to fellowship with other believers.

There are many churches today where you can worship God and be one with his people. Just be careful that you go to a church that honors the Word of God and not some teachings made by men. If you go to church on Sundays, you will receive great blessing from knowing His Word and from fellowshipping with fellow believers.
